Class Description:

Boys Dance Class (3-5 years) Tuesday 4:30 - 5:15

  • A thirty minute combination class that teaches tap, jazz & hiphop
  • Specifically designed with boys in mind as they learn differently then girls.
  • Geared toward a young boys’ active and physical nature, the purpose of the class is to introduce young male dancers to the three styles of dance and inspire movement and creativity through jumps & turns.
  • Dancers also learn basic steps and terminology.

Showstars (5-6 years) Tuesday 4:30 - 5:30

  • The Showstars Program at Stageworks is a dance combination class that combines ballet, tap, & jazz.
  • This one hour class starts with a tap component based on Al Gilbert Tap Syllabus, then moves to ballet technique training inspired by R.A.D. and finishes with the fun and active jazz class.
  • The classes stress the basics of tap and allows dancers to build into combinations which are great to watch and delightful to hear.
  • This class explores the elements of dance; Body, Space, Force, and Time, through creative exercises that are movement focused rather than story focused.

Junior Contemporary (9-11 years) Tuesday 5:15 - 6:15

  • Contemporary dance is the exploration of space, movement, and interpretation.
  • Students in Stageworks Contemporary Program will build on these fundamentals.
  • With the guidance of the teacher, students learn how to interpret and tell stories through movement.
  • Advancement through thought and ideas will be expanded at the junior level.

Beginner Jazz (6-9 years) Tuesday 5:30 - 6:30

  • Stageworks Jazz Program is inspired by Brian Foley's ADAPT method.
  • This 1 hour jazz class teaches students to create fun and kid friendly dance moves to popular music.
  • The class stresses the importance of strengthening the body through stretching and muscle isolations.

Beginner Contemporary (6-8 years) Tuesday 6:15 - 7:15

  • Each dance class starts with a thorough warm-up to build strength and stimulate core connections and body awareness.
  • The warm up is followed by phrase work focusing on directional and weight changes, rhythm, and Laban Fundamentals (i.e. time, space, effort, etc.) and finishes with some great innovative choreography to keep their minds and body in tip-top shape.
  • Your child will become more self-confident in their ability to create and more comfortable expressing ideas, a key leadership skill.
  • They'll experience an overall sense of fluidity, strength, and confidence in their everyday movement. Expand their movement vocabulary, sweat, laugh and have fun!

Musical Theatre (9-11 years) Tuesday 6:30 - 7:30

  • Stageworks Musical Theatre Program is a big hit among those students who love to dance and sing.
  • Focus is on character building through song and dance.
  • Students will love to explore their inner star power.

Junior Jazz (9-11 years) Wednesday 4:30 - 5:30

  • Stageworks Jazz Program is inspired by Brian Foley's ADAPT method.

Junior Acro (Level 2) Wednesday 4:30 - 5:30

  • Expanding from those skills in Level 1 Acro, students at this level will do such moves as open cartwheels, shoulder roll, bridge recovery, handstand to bridge etc.
  • This level requires all technique from level 1 to be completed and passed by our certified teachers.Beginner Acro (Level 1) Wednesday 5:30 - 6:30

  • Students are learning acro for the first belong in this class.  All skills must be complete before moving into the second level regardless of age.
  • Students will learn the basics such as Acro 1st and 2nd position, basic bridge, bridge inside out, bridge walking, headstand, handstand etc.

Twinkle Babies (2-3 years) Wednesday 5:30 - 6:00

  • A thirty minute introductory ballet dance class.
  • Young dancers will learn the basic steps while learning how to follow direction and imitate movement in a positive environment.
  • Engaging music is used to get these little guys inspired to dance.
  • The use of props such as Twinkle bears, enables the young dancers to use their imagination, creativity and, most of all, have fun!

Princess Ballet (3-4 years) Wednesday 6:00 - 6:30

  • A thirty minute ballet dance class.
  • Students will learn the beginning stages to the R.A.D. Dance Syllabus for Preschoolers.
  • This 30 minute class is jam packed full of movement and fun.
  • Dancers explore ballet movement in a fun and high energy way.  It is the perfect ballet class for your child to start dance.

Twinkle Stars (3-4 years) Wednesday 6:30 - 7:15

  • An age specific 45 minute class containing ballet, tap and jazz/creative movement.
  • The purpose of the class is to introduce young dancers to the three styles of dance and inspire movement and creativity within a positive environment.
  • Dancers will also learn basic steps and terminology in all three styles. For example, all dancers will learn what a “plie” is and how to demonstrate one.
  • The use of fun, age appropriate music engages the young dancers’ minds and bodies.

Lyrical Dance (7 - 11 years) Wednesday 6:30 - 7:30

  • Lyrical Jazz Dance is the emotional dance style.
  • Students in this program will learn how to communicate emotion through movement.
  • It is a slow jazz style dance used effectively to story tell and is essential to communicate emotion.

Musical Kidz (6-8 years) Thursday 4:30 - 5:30

  •  There's No Business Like Show Business is the fundamental purpose of this class.
  • Musical Kidz is a class for younger students who want to learn to put some new moves to their music.
  • Specific to musicals, this musical theatre style is sure to make your kids tap their toes.

Intermediate Hiphop (12 - 16 years) Thursday 4:30 - 5:30

  • What child doesn't want to learn how to do hiphop?
  • Stageworks Hiphop Program will teach your child to move to the beat and culture of hiphop dance.
  • They will be able to bust a move on any school dance floor.

Beginner Tap (6-9 years) Thursday 5:30 - 6:30

  • Using the Al Gilbert Syllabus, Tap is an essential dance technique that improves so many parts of the dancer as well as other forms of dance.
  • If your child loves to dance, this is an absolute class.
  • Tap will help with building rhythm and supporting such dances as contemporary.
  • And . . . it is so much fun!

  • Stageworks uses R.A.D. dance syllabus for Ballet.
  • With highly trained personnel, Stageworks puts the fun into Ballet.
  • Students will learn the basics of ballet training through this program.
  • As Ballet is the fundamental dance form of all dance, Stageworks ensures that your child starts off on the right step.
