The Show:

Its Christmas Eve in Early 1900.  The home of the Stahlbaum's is decorate complete with a beautiful Christmas Tree.  Awaiting for their guests to arrive for a grand party, Clara and her family put on the finishing touches.  Children and the family guests arrive enjoying the season that is Christmas.  Lady Melissa and Lady Candice arrange a musical number as entertainment as they await their last guest the magical Drosselmeyer.  He arrives with a gift for Clara, the best gift . . . a nutcracker.  The children are overjoyed with excitement and entertain the adults with a wonderful dance.

The clock strikes 10 and it is time for the guests to go home.  The families say their goodbyes and all snuggle in their warm beds, except Clara who curls up under the Christmas Tree holding her dearest gift in hand.  Just then, a team of mice come around, and then a team of soldiers, some on horses.  They circle the room awaiting for the Mouse King.  As it looks like the mouse king will win, the Nutcracker becomes life size and surges towards the mouse king.  He hurts the Nutcracker and just as the mouse king is about to attack the Nutcracker, Clara throws her shoe and the Nutcracker overtakes the mouse king.

The Nutcracker takes Clara by the hand as they turn into a Prince and a grown up Clara.  He leads her through the pine forest and through the snow to the land of the sweets where they meet up with the Sugar Plum Fairy.  She escorts them and plans a celebration in honour of the heroic effort of the Prince as representatives from all over the world perform for him.  The land of the sweets include chocolate, coffee, tea, candy canes, sugar flutes, Mother ginger, sugar plums, all as the beautiful flowers wave them an adieu.

The Show:

A beautiful Greek Island, a young woman getting married to her prince charming, a beach and a tiki bar, what could go wrong? Is it too much for a girl to want her dad to walk her down the aisle?  Apparently, it could be.

Based on the infamous songs from the iconic pop band ABBA; Mamma Mia tells the story of a young woman trying to find out who her father is before she gets married. Sophie secretly invites 3 men (who she only knows of through passages from her Mother’s diary) to her wedding in hopes that 1 will be her dad and will agree to walk her down the aisle.

Guests arrive on the Island for the wedding festivities; including the colourful friends of Sophie’s Mother, Donna, Tanya, and Rosie.  Recapturing and reminiscing their youthful days as singers through song and dance; Donna and her Dynamos sing songs such as Dancing Queen, Chiquitita, and Super Trouper.

Sophie doesn’t want to let anyone down. Thinking that she would know her father the moment she saw him, she doesn’t know what to do when she meets all three men and is confused about who her father is. How should she move forward with who will walk her down the aisle?

Through this humorous tale of story twists, ABBA’s songs can be heard loud and proud.  You will want to dance in your seats and sing along with this fabulous cast. Every song is well known and foot stomping.

Stageworks is proud to offer this amazing foot stomping, sing along, dance in your seat show. The show runs from March 1st - 9th.
